God's Goal: Christ As All in All by Manfred Haller In brief, this book is one of the best books on God's eternal purpose that I have ever read. Haller writes with the precision of an expert craftsman as he explains the heart passion of God. What does God care about? What is He interested in? What is His goal in life? These are questions that it seems hardly anyone is asking. Most believers are concerned with questions like these; what is God's will for my life? What is my purpose? Why am I here? Why was I born? What does God expect of me? There is a huge emphasis right now within Christian groups to know and understand God's purpose for our lives. But have we missed the point? God definitely has a goal and a purpose. This is the same purpose that He has had since before eternity. Manfred Haller points out that this purpose (or goal) is wrapped up and centered in His Son. The increase and enlargement of Christ is His sole obsession. |
Christ is to come to have the preeminence and central place in all things and all things are to be summed up in Him. Haller points out that God has a secret and that secret is Christ. You can only come to know this secret by revelation. Then Haller moves on to show us that God is going to accomplish this goal by Christ becoming the All in all. He must become the All in you and the All in me. Christ and the church are one. God's vehicle of the expression of the fullness of Christ is to be the church. This is where "Christ in you" comes into play. This book is one of the best for showing us not only God's purpose, but how He is going to accomplish this purpose through His church. You'll definitely want to add this one to your library. It's a classic! You can obtain a copy of "Christ As All in All" from Amazon.com. |
